Chocolate brownie – a slice of heaven?

Is there anything better than cake? A tough question, but I believe chocolate brownies are at least on par. The combination of a crunchy outer and soft gooey inner is an awesome treat, and also simple to make.

This one is from a basic packet mix from the supermarket. Brownies are quite easy to make but why make them from scratch when you can mix and bake. Besides, you can be eating the brownie a few minutes earlier this way!

The fudge sauce is optional, but here I made a basic warm ganache – it’s cream warmed up in a saucepan with chocolate melted into it. There are heaps of recipes online, some add other things but who has time for all of that? This is a quick recipe for those of us who love yummy chocolate baked goods but don’t want to spend forever getting a result.

This one also has whipped cream to top it off; if you are going to treat yourself, might as well enjoy it. If it makes you feel better, add some fruit on the plate. A range of fresh berries will go particularly well with a chocolate brownie.
