Peanut butter and chocolate biscuits

Biscuits don’t get much simpler, tastier, or cheaper than these ones. Four ingredients and about 20 minutes in total – what more could you ask for?

I should point out that only a few minutes of the total time is preparation so these biscuits are perfect if you must have biscuits, but are also good enough for a special occasion or for just enjoying with a morning coffee.

Ingredients

1 cup peanut butter
1 cup self-raising flour
1 egg
1 cup chocolate chips

Method

I use a food processor to make these biscuits, but you don’t have to. A simple mixing bowl and a quick morning arm workout will also do the trick.

Put the peanut butter, self-raising flour, and the egg in the processor and mix until it all comes together. Remove and add 1 cup of chocolate chips and mix in. Get a dessertspoon and scoop out the mixture, roll into little balls, and then flatten slightly in your hand. Place on a tray, and bake the biscuits for about 10-15 minutes at 170 degrees.

There are lots of different types of nut butters these days such as hazelnuts, almonds, cashews, and macadamias. I haven’t tried any others with this recipe, but I imagine they would be all work OK and be as delicious; however, peanut butter is the cheapest and easiest to get.

So, off to it then.
